Together, we can end homelessness. As a member of the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness we are part of a national movement to end homelessness, that starts at the community level. To achieve this goal, we need to engage all levels of government, non-profit agencies, private sector groups and most importantly those with lived experience.

As a community collaborative dedicated to creating system change and eliminating homelessness in the Region of Peel, we believe that an integrated approach to address homelessness must be organized at all three levels of government. It has been clearly demonstrated that reducing homelessness produces enormous financial benefits, and alleviates unacceptable personal costs to Canadians. Tireless efforts are being made at the local level and many successes have been demonstrated, but setting a common vision is needed that utilizes clear outcomes, measurable targets and timelines.

PAEH advocates for the prioritization of this central policy issue, and for increased accountability and planning integration from all levels of government. Locally, we advocate for best practices such as Housing First, and a community-wide common assessment in the utilization of the VI-SPDAT for screening.
